In Golden Tears from Hamburg have come a long way this year. Previously known as Secrets they changed their name to In Golden Tears and signed to Berlin based label Humming Records (Flashguns, Cloud Control, Red Drapes) where they released their debut single Urban Emotions in April.
The band have been touring ever since, supporting Flashguns, The Vaccines and Red Drapes. They also played some headline shows in the UK which is rather unique for a German band that has only one release to fall back on.
Urban Emotions is a slow and captivating song. It contains some post-punk and electronic elements but really is a pop song at heart. I hope we’ll get an album from these guys soon. Until then you should all go and check them out live at tonight’s Karrera Klub party.
